MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP

The coat of arms of the State of NY is made out of combination of three precious metals: silver, brass and copper. It’s exclusively handmade by using traditional goldsmith’s method making casting sheets by: filling, soldering, sawing, forging, rasping, polishing metals and hand engraving.

The round background is made out of natural rectangular and square shaped white stones. The edge of round background is decorated with mini red bricks (proportion 1:10) which hold the originality and quality of the real brick. Diameter of inner circle is 35 cm.
The artwork is hooked onto a custom made round flamed wooden (Walnut) frame decorated with 3.6 cm thick Navy rope. The diameter of the round frame is 63 cm.

The inscription „THE GREAT SEAL OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK“ is made out of brass. Each letter is hand sawed, rasped and attached onto the wooden frame. Letters height is 3.2 cm. Total weight of the artwork is 25 kg.

The production time needed for the coat of arms of NY took 6 months.
